Pictures from Pearl Harbor

Last week I took a trip over to Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii to the WWII Valor in the Pacific Memorial. I took some great pictures from the grounds to the landscape and some of the memorials, including the USS Arizona memorial.

The Arizona is still sitting at the bottom of the Harbor and incredibly still have drops of oil from its ship leaking into the water. The hazy oil slick you see in some of the pictures, that’s actually oil from the ship after 70 years.

I wrote here about my experience meeting Herb Weatherwax, a survivor from the attack on Pearl Harbor still alive more than 70 years ago. I then touched on a little known secret of how to “skip the line” so to speak for tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial.

I’m including my pictures here for you to take a look at. Hopefully these pictures from Pearl Harbor will encourage you to take a trip over there if and when you’re in Hawaii. Should you want to share/copy/etc these pictures for any reason, feel free to do so.
